How it works

The N9030B supports FFT and swept frequency span operation. The N9030B has frequency span capability from zero span and 10 Hz up to the maximum frequency of the instrument, with 2 Hz span resolution. The N9030B provides resolution bandwidths from 1 Hz to 3 MHz in 10 percent steps, plus 4 MHz, 5 MHz, 6 MHz, and 8 MHz. The N9030B supports free run, line, video, external 1, external 2, RF burst, and periodic timer sweep triggering. The N9030B supports gated LO, gated video, and gated FFT time-gating methods.[4]

Applications

The N9030B is positioned for high-performance research and development applications in aerospace and defense and commercial wireless communications. The N9030B is used for measurements such as noise figure, phase noise, spur search, channel power, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel power, spectrum emission mask, spurious emissions, modulation analysis, analog demodulation, pulse measurements, EMI-related bandwidth functions, and real-time spectrum analysis when the relevant options are present. The N9030B can extend measurement frequency to 1.1 THz with mixers.[2][1][5]
