How it works

Grinders and polishers of this class remove material from a sample surface by abrasion against a rotating platen covered with abrasive paper or polishing cloth. The MetaServ 3000 Vector LC provides an infinitely variable platen speed. The speed range is 50 to 500 rpm. The Vector LC power head applies controlled pressure to one or more samples held in a sample holder. The single-sample-pressure design allows the force applied to each sample to be tailored individually. The machine accepts one to four samples per run.[1][3]
