What it is

The Agilent 8753 E is a dual-port network analyzer. The Agilent 8753 E has a 30 kHz to 6 GHz range. The Agilent 8753 E includes a 10 MHz precision reference.[1][2]

How it works

The HP 8753E RF vector network analyzer provides component measurements in the 30 kHz to 6 GHz frequency range. The HP 8753E has an integrated, synthesized source with up to 10 mW of output power, or 100 mW with Option 011. The HP 8753E provides 1 Hz frequency resolution and supports linear-frequency, log-frequency, list-frequency, CW, and power sweep types. The HP 8753E uses three tuned receivers for independent power measurements or simultaneous ratio measurements. The HP 8753E has an integrated test set for measuring transmission and reflection characteristics to 6 GHz without a frequency doubler. The HP 8753E features two independent measurement channels.[3]

The HP 8753E can display reflection and transmission parameters in magnitude, phase, group-delay, Smith-chart, polar, SWR, or time-domain formats. The HP 8753E uses softkeys for measurement functions and supports overlay or split-screen viewing on an LCD color display. The HP 8753E includes a VGA-compatible output for external monitors.[3]

Applications

The HP 8753E is intended for component measurements. The HP 8753E provides complete forward and reverse measurements with a built-in S-parameter test set. The HP 8753E supports mixer testing for frequency-translating devices. The HP 8753E can add swept harmonic measurements for amplifier characterization, including gain, 1 dB compression, match, and 2nd and 3rd harmonic distortion.[3]
